1- As a child I was raised with my grandmother’s teachings and believes. She was a very kind human being very religious and against cinema. She strongly believed that those going to cinema would be denied paradise.
Being in love with her because of her charisma, I spent my childhood avoiding films and going to cinema. Thinking of it today, I have no regret for three different reasons:

The Chicago International Film Festival awarded the Gold Hugo for best film, its top prize, to “The President” by Mohsen Makhmalbaf.
Actress Kathleen Turner, president of the intentional jury, introduced a video greeting from Mahkmalbaf. He dedicated his Hugo to Amir-Entezam, a political prisoner of three decades who he called “the Mandela of Iran.”
The President directed by Mohsen Makhmalbaf received The Société Générale Award for Best Feature Film by the audience vote from the 14th Beirut International Film Festival.
Beirut International Film Festival, which take place from 1st to 9th of October in Lebanon every year, is considered as one of the most influential film festival of the middle east.
فيلم پرزيدنت آخرين ساخته محسن مخملباف كه در چهاردمين دوره جشنواره بين المللى بيروت به نمايش درآمد موفق به دريافت جايزه بهترين فيلم از نگاه تماشاگران اين جشنواره شد.
جشنواره بيروت كه هرساله از تاريخ ١ تا ٩ اكتبر در كشور لبنان برگزار مى شود يكى از اثرگذارترين جشنواره هاى خاورميانه است. سال ها پيش به مناسبت حضور محمود احمدى نژاد در لبنان، با فشار سفارت ايران به وزارت فرهنگ لبنان اين جشنواره از نمايش فيلم روزهاى سبز ساخته حنا مخملباف منع شد. اما جشنواره در سال بعد فيلم روزهاى سبز را نمايش داد و این فیلم موفق به دریافت جايزه اول این جشنواره شد.
19th Busan International Film Festival, which takes place in south Korea and is considered by many as the equivalent of Cannes in Asia, is holding a full day seminar on Mohsen Makhmalbaf and his works on 8th of October 2014.
The speakers of the seminar entitled "Mohsen Makhmalbaf And The Truth Of Cinema" are the experts in the field from six different countries across the globe. This seminar will start with a short welcome by Mohsen Makhmalbaf to the audience.

در اين سمينار با نام " محسن مخملباف و حقیقت سینما " ٦ سينما شناس از كشورهاى مختلف دنيا سخن خواهند گفت. اين سمينار با خير مقدم محسن مخملباف به حاضران شروع خواهد شد.
فيلم بابا فيلم دارد ساخته حسن صلح جو كه به مدرسه سينمايي محسن مخملباف و خانواده اش اختصاص دارد نيز در اين جشنواره به نمايش در خواهد آمد.
