The President
Synopsis:
The President tells the story of a dictator who comes face to face with the people he previously subjugated.
The President and his family rule their land with an iron fist, enjoying lives of luxury and leisure at the expense of their population's misery. When a coup d'état overthrows his brutal rule and the rest of his family flees the country by plane, The President is suddenly left to care for his young grandson and forced to escape.
Mohsen Makhmalbaf Iranian film director wins Manhae Peace Award
Iranian dissident and film director Mohsen Makhmalbaf received the 18th Manhae Peace Award, the Manhae Prize Committee said Tuesday.
In 2004 Nelson Mandela, former president of South Africa, received this prize and and two years later this prize was given to Tibetans spritual leader Dalai Lama. Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi won it in 2009 and M. Fethullah Gülen the Turkish poet was the winner in 2013.
جايزه صلح مانها ٢٠١٤ به محسن مخملباف اهدا شد
محسن مخملباف فیلمساز ایرانی، هجدهمین جایزه صلح مانها را دریافت کرد.
جایزه صلح مانها در سال ۱۹۹۷ برای بزرگداشت هان یونگ-اون شاعر اصلاح طلب کره ای (با نام هنری مانها) پایه گذاری شده است. این جایزه هر ساله در کشور کره به کسانی اهدا می شود که منشا اثرات مثبتی در زمینه صلح، مدارا، فرهنگ و هنر دنیا بوده اند.
پرزيدنت ساخته محسن مخملباف در افتتاحيه ونيز ٢٠١٤
آلبرتو باربرا رييس جشنواره ونيز اعلام كرد: "پرزيدنت" ساخته سينمايی جديد محسن مخملباف بخش رسمی جشنواره ونيز امسال را افتتاح می كند. در کنار "پرزیدنت" فیلم سینمایی "پرنده باز" به كارگردانی الگژاندرو جی ایناریتو نیز در روز افتتاحیه به نمایش در خواهد آمد.
فيلم پرزیدنت داستان فروپاشی يك ديكتاتوری و تراژدی های قبل و بعد از انقلاب است.
"پرزيدنت" نوشته و كارگردانی محسن مخملباف در زمستان گذشته در كشور گرجستان فيلم برداری شد و در بهار امسال تدوين فيلم در لندن به پايان رسيد.
The President directed by Mohsen Makhmalbaf will open the 71st Venice Film Festival 2014
During the press conference held on 24th of July Alberto Barbera, the head of the festival, announced that “The President” by Mohsen Makhmalbaf will open the official section of Venice Film Festival this year.
Alongside the President the Birdman by Alejandro G.Inarritu are the only two film that will be screened on the opening day on 27th of August.
The President narrates the story of a dictatorship regime & its tragedies before and after a revolution.
