Mohsen Makhmalbaf "Dean's letter for Pusan Film Festival"

In my country Iran, every year, many students graduate from film schools but prominent Iranian filmmakers did not come out of these schools. Why have these schools failed to train filmmakers? Is it because of inadequate instructors? Have they taught useless courses? Have these schools admitted untalented students? Are only schools in Iran like that? Or the fact that cinema can not be learned?

The correct answer to this question can brighten the way on how to learn cinema.

CINES DEL SUR Film Festival Award to Mohsen Makhmalbaf

Jury of the first edition of The Granada Film Festival CINES DEL SUR in Spain has awarded Mohsen Makhmalbaf with a Jury Special Mention Award for his latest film “Scream of the Ants” as well as his life time achievement as a filmmaker. To pay tribute to Mohsen Makhmalbaf, the Organization of the festival is also planning to organize a retrospective of Makhmalbaf works in a near future.

هیات داوران اولین دوره جشنواره " گراند سینه دل سور" در کشور اسپانیا جایزه ویژه هیأت داوران این جشنواره را به خاطر فیلم "فریاد مورچه ها" و همچنین یک عمر فعالیت سینمایی به محسن مخملباف اختصاص داد. مسئولین این جشنواره همچنین اعلام کردند که آنها در پی تدارک مرور بر آثاری برای بزرگداشت محسن مخملباف در آینده ای نزدیک می باشند.
